Live Mocha

Today is my first post. YAY! I started a new account with the Live Mocha social webservice. It provides a social network like myspace or facebook for persons of different languages to come together and help teach one another. So far I am a fan. It allows you to connect with others of the languages that you want to learn without being bogged down with a long profile creation process. There seem to be a lot of free content and the subscription or paid content is resonable.

The idea is that you do exercises then get other persons of the langauage you are interested in the read and grade the exercise. You can also friend the different people from different places so that you can learn about culture etc. Overall this is a pleasant experience. Within a few minutes of creating my profile I had a request to assist with grading a persons exercise. You earn points based on your acivity. You use those points to increase your ranking. Also, Live Mocha offers you the option of begginer, intermediate, and advanced levels of learning.

Overall this seems like a rewarding way to educate yourself should you want to learn more about another culture or improve your skills in french or spanish. I definitely suggest this site for anyone who hs those goals. This isn't a casual or professional networking site and should porbably be avoided by persons who are looking for flashy layouts and games like flirt.
